Creativity and art journey

“If you could only show us one project of yours, to describe what you do, which one would it be and why?”

“I want to show you the “individualer”. I like it so much and I’m one of the designers of it. It’s a good story, but there are some problems about money so it just produced two episodes.”

“What art pieces (from other artists) blow you away and what specifically do you like about them?.”

“My favorite artist is Ruan Jia. I love his style so much. His pictures are like oil painting. I love his color and details. He is different from others. I can learn so much from him.”

“Throughout your life, what kind of support did you have from the people around you when it comes to your artistic developments?”

“When I was a little boy. My mom found that I have a big interest in painting. She told me if I like it, I can do it. When I graduated from college, she gave me money to study Photoshop painting.”

“What are things that influenced you in your life, to create the art that you create?”

“Creativity is a thing that I need to learn forever. I’m not a good designer yet, I need to keep studying.”

“What aspect of your art do you want people to remember you for?”

“It’s not so important for me to make people remember me. If there is one person who likes my work, that is good news for me, that’s enough.”

“Why are you creative?”

“I just like it and I need my work to help me find jobs. It makes me happy and feel less stressed.”

Personality and values

“What’s one specific memory you never want to forget?”

“Emm… I will never forget the last time with my father. He died of illness a few years ago.”

“What’s the biggest obstacle you’ve had to face in your life?”

“Maybe is the pressure of life.”

“If you could have a video of any event in your life, which one would you choose?”

“This is still an unknown matter. I think the answer is in the future.”

“As you get older, what are you becoming more and more afraid of?”

“I’m worried about my family’s health and I don’t want to lose them.”

“What is something everyone should try atleast once in their life?”

“I want to go out and see more things after work.”

Creating Art

“What does the process of coming up with new ideas look like for you?”

“First I need to determine the worldview. The worldview tells me what kind of things I need, so I will find pictures on the internet. This process is actually inspiring me. Then I will start drawing.”

“What kind of advice would you give someone who struggles to come up with ideas?”

“You can not create one thing with no information. If you have no ideas, maybe you need to see some pictures.”

“At what point in a project do you struggle the most?”

“In China we will be asked to revise the plan over and over again. I really don’t like that.”

“Do you have any advice on breaking out of your artistic comfort zone?”

“You can’t do everything well but you can’t only do things you like either. Sometimes leaving your comfort zone can help you improve your abilities.”

“If you could give your younger self any art advice, what would it be?”

“Take more time to stay with your father.”

“If you could ask your favorite artists anything you wanted, what would you ask?”

“Can I take a photo with you? lol~ :)”
