Who is Yare Yue?

“My name is Yare Yue. I started working in the CG industry since 2013 including game art outsourcing and game development. Now I work and help with the art porjects in my friend’s studio found in 2019. I like drawing environments and monsters.”

“If you could only show us one project of yours, to describe what you do, which one would it be and why?”

“It’s probably the series of a kid and a cat. At present, this is still a personal IP for now, but my studio and I plan to expand this series to our satisfaction in the future.”

“What art project are you most proud of?”

“There are currently two series that I am most fond of, one is the kid and the cat, and the other is a set of monsters. If it’s a project I worked on in the past, I would probably choose Hearthstone.”

“Is there something you wish you had done differently leading up to where you are now?”

“There is not much specific. Although there have been some detours in the past, I think it is what I did in the past that made the current state. If I have to say anything, social anxiety is probably the thing I want to change the most.”

“What chapter in your life, did you enjoy most?”

“The winter vacation in the second grade of junior high school would be my favorite time as a student. Some of the time in college can be ranked second.”

“What kind of advice would you give someone who struggles to come up with ideas?”

“Get more exposure to things outside of the industry. I have followed many bloggers such as popular science, photography and even social science and psychology. Many of the things they found and the ideas they put forward were instructive.”

“Looking back at your career, which project did you enjoy working on the most?”

“Hearthstone, I don’t play this game, but since I’m a WOW fan I really like their expansion and re-creation of the worldview.”
